Staying for the sake of the children is good. But.
Trying to decide whether to stay or to get divorced is another decision. The Lord cannot work with uncertainty, a decision has to be made.
I went through a period or indecision like this many years ago. The wife had been unfaithful. I was wondering the same thing about divorce and staying together. I was getting closer to the Lord during this time and finally came to the decision that I was going to stay in the marriage, and something could be worked out if she was also willing. She was a professed christian and could recite Bible passages, but applying the Bible to her life was not being done. Anyway, the next day after making the decision to stay, she said she wanted a divorce, and it eventually came to pass. The point is, I made a decision, and then something happened.
Decide which way you want to go. Doing it the Bible way means to stay together, although he was unfaithful so you have a Biblical basis for divorce. Dont be unfaithful yourself, you have to live with yourself, always. Honor the marriage, the kids notice and are being taught. You decide, and the Lord can start the Holy Spirit working in the situation. Love can return with the help of the Lord.
Make a decision and stick with it.
Jam 3:16
For where envying and strife [is], there [is] confusion and every evil work.
Please pray for me and my marriage. Back in 2005, my husband was unfaithful to me and now after 4 years, I don't want to live with him, I don't love him, but for the sake of our children I have stayed. I need the Lord to guide me in my decision of either divorcing him or staying with him.
Thanks,
Dee
